Hey all. Question for you. What are YOU looking for in an Aquatic Director / Supervisor / Manager position? What would make YOU take a job like that? What are things that would make you NOT take a position like this? What were the selling points of your current position?
I have an Aquatic Supervisor position that we’ve advertised 3x and our latest lead candidate let us know today that they were declining the position they were to start on Monday. Some stats:
    • Southern Maryland (cost of living is fairly high compared to Florida, midwest, Texas, etc)
    • Oversight of 1 indoor aquatic facility, 2 seasonal outdoor facilities
    • NO maintenance responsibilities (there is a Maintenance Mechanic position)
    • Starts at $54,400.00 annually. Merit/full time, full benefits.
    • Up to $2,500 moving expenses, we pay all training / certifications.
    • Swim teams, water fitness, swim lessons, fitness room, therapy pool
    • Full-time employees: Aquatic Facility Manager (over indoor facility); Maintenance Mechanic; Office Specialist (admin); Aquatics Coordinator (programming)
Trying to figure out how to recruit for this one successfully as we’ve been striking out last couple months. Thanks!
