Thank you to those who have already registered for our first monthly State of Aquatics Zoom call. If you haven't already registered, we encourage you to please join the conversation.

With pools open and a returning risk of drowning—a risk which may be exacerbated by the fact that your organizations have been closed for months—we want to be sure that drowning prevention continues to be top priority. This is why our first monthly State of Aquatics Zoom call will focus on drowning prevention.

During the call, we will share lessons learned from recent aquatics events, how you can prepare lifeguards to detect an aquatics event and intervene immediately, and what drowning prevention measures you can implement for non-swimmers.

Before the call, we’d like you to think about two important questions:

  1. What's the same? What are the skills, knowledge and resources you relied on before—and which might need refreshing as you return?
  2. What has changed? How might COVID-19 change how you approach aquatic safety, for example due to additional hygiene or safety protocols?

Please join us on Thursday as we kick off our monthly State of Aquatics Zoom calls. We look forward to convening and hearing your reflections.

We'll see you soon!
