Brian's call to USA Swimming's Club Coaches

  • Have you ever experienced what you would categorize as burnout/psychological exhaustion throughout your career?
  • Have you ever noticed yourself having difficulty regulating your emotions on the pool deck?

I'm a graduate student earning my master's in Sport Psychology at Ball State University and am actively recruiting participants for my thesis study which aims to help coaches manage these types of experiences.

Coaches are rarely given resources that can benefit their mental health and the purpose of this study is to take a step toward correcting this concern.

Please see the attached flyer regarding my study, which will introduce mindfulness meditation as a psychological coping strategy for coaches. It is free to participate in this study, and I hope to begin the in early October 2021.

Please reach me at bjtremml@bsu.edu if you are interested in participating. Thank you!

There are a number of resources on this topic, for what its worth, within the Global Library for ISCA Members located at Read.SwimISCA.org.

More insights are coming there every week. But, it is always great to have new outreach and new leaders in this field of study.
